  Welcome

The International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) is a global network that provides the content, the credibility and the community to help communication professionals succeed in their careers. IABC links communicators in a network that inspires, establishes and supports the highest standards of quality in organizational communication and strategic business communication management. IABC provides a professional network of almost 16,000 business communication professionals in over 70 countries.

IABC/Madison (Wisconsin USA) is one of 100 IABC chapters around the world. Our members include experts in all areas of communication and across all business, public and non-profit sectors. Most of us work in Madison, but some of us are located in Baraboo, LaCrosse, Beloit, Central Wisconsin and the Fox River Valley.

The Madison chapter began in April 1969 as the Professional Communicators of Wisconsin. It became ProCom/IABC in January, 1981 and became IABC/Madison in April, 1994.

Our monthly luncheon meetings are held at 11:30 a.m. on the fourth Wednesday of each month except in June, July and December. We typically have lunch at noon after networking, and have a 30- to 45-minute program after lunch. The cost is $17.00 for members, $25.00 for guests and $12.00 for students. 1-28-09 meeting. When General Casualty's parent company, Winterthur Insurance Group in Switzerland, was bought by a French insurer in 2006, employees, agents and the public learned that the U.S. companies (General Casualty and Unigard) would be sold off because the acquiring insurer didn't want to be in the U.S. insurance market.
